Whispers at Moonrise

The book Whispers at Moonrise was written by Christie Craig, also known as C. C. Hunter and is a teen fiction novel. It is the third book in the series of Shadow Falls. The last book left off with a new character named Ellie. She was a vampire that needed guidance and gave her life to save another campmate. Even though she died, Ellie still helped guide Kylie to Derek so that she could save him too. That was how they found Mario before he could hurt any more campers. He escaped though and the hunt for him continues through this book. The main characters are Kylie Galen, Della Tsang, Burnett James, Lucas Parker, Fredericka Lakota, Miranda Cane, Holiday Branden, Perry Gomez, and Derek Lakes. This series has witches, fairies, vampires, werewolves, and the unidentified species. Kylie is slowly starting to unlock secrets and the truth about who she is, but she is also losing Lucas Parker. She then starts to shift back to Derek Lakes again. While her love triangle is going on, she is being visited by Holiday? Is it really her beloved camp leader or is it a ghost trying to take her face? Maybe it’s not even that… Secrets, love, and confusion are represented through this book.

“Even at a camp for supernatural teens, Kylie Galen has never been normal. Not only can she see ghosts, but she doesn't seem to belong to any one species—she exhibits traits from them all. As Kylie struggles to unlock the secrets of her identity, she begins to worry that Lucas will never be able to accept her for what she is, and what she isn't…a werewolf. With his pack standing in their way, Kylie finds herself turning more and more to Derek, the only person in her life who's willing to accept the impossible.”
“As if life isn't hard enough, she starts getting visits from the ghost of Holiday, her closest confidante. Trouble is, Holiday isn't dead…not yet anyway. Now Kylie must race to save one of her own from an unseen danger before it's too late—all while trying to stop her relationship with Lucas from slipping away forever. In a world of constant confusion, there's only one thing Kylie knows for sure. Change is inevitable and all things must come to an end…maybe even her time at Shadow Falls.”

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book more than the others. It finally starts to reveal the truth about who Kylie really is and that makes it interesting. Plus, I got lost in the fact that Holiday will be dead soon and had to find out what really was happening. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery, fantasy, and a love story all mashed into one series. The more you read it, the more you enjoy it. It is an amazing book to read in your free time or anytime. I read this book in about four days because I never wanted to stop reading it. The book was very interesting and most definitely gets 5 ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.
